“Landscape Placemat” Workshop

(Some experience with free motion is useful)

Supply List:

• Bring a photo or calendar picture of a scene that you would like to make
• ½ metre of Décor Bond stabilizer
• ¼ metre of batting and backing fabric
• ¼ metre of background sky fabric (look at some batiks for good sky choices)
• Scrap pieces of fabrics of various trees, grasses, leaves, water fabrics to use together
• ½ metre of fusible web (I like “Steam a Seam 2”)
• A sewing machine in good working order with the free motion foot installed
• Recommended needle: Microtex 80/12
• Small scissors, pencil and eraser
• Rayon threads in colours that will match and have a slight contrast to your landscape fabrics
• Load 2 bobbins ahead of time with a light or dark rayon thread
